We spent the weekend exploring Cambridge as much as we could in the freezing temperatures.
We have only just scratched the surface but have now started to get a feel for where things are in centre of town (which is about a 10-15 minute walk from our house). We're still in awe of the beautiful Colleges, which are scattered throughout the town amongst all the normal shops and amenities.
On Saturday we went for a walk into the centre of town and joined the library (obviously a high priority!). We also had a hot chocolate at Marks and Spencer's and bought some extra things we needed to survive the cold/wet climate. We've already discovered the importance of waterproof shoes - I have bought waterproof snow-type boots which I would never have any need for in Sydney, but am now wearing every time I leave the house.
Sunday, we walked through the middle of town and out the other side to our church. It was snowing quite heavily, but at that stage it was still enough of a novelty to us for it to be considered a welcome part of the 30 minute walk. We were pretty keen to start at church on our first Sunday in Cambridge, and we were glad we went. We got to witness two baptisms, and the kids all had a wonderful time in their various groups.
In the afternoon our new neighbours came round for afternoon tea, and it was lovely to have a chance to get to know them.
Here are photos I took on our walk to and from church...

I am loving seeing your pictures and hearing what you've been doing. The cold in Europe is just... chilling! It feels solid, if you know what I mean! Such a novelty, though.
What church are you going to? (If you're happy to share!) My school group went to StAG when we were there several years ago.
Hi Hannah! We're at Eden Baptist. Glad you like the pics :)
