Transparently honest

I've been really enjoying Simone's posts about Australia day...

My own contribution to the tackiness of the day was (in a fit of low-brow patriotism) to buy some Australian flag tattoo transfers from the Reject Shop.

As I was putting them on I noticed a curious feature of their design: the stars of the Southern Cross and the seven-pointed Commonwealth Star were not white but transparent. Obviously the only people that the manufacturers expected to wear their flag tattoos were people whose skin was the right colour to fill the transparent star-shaped holes with pure, starry whiteness.

I guess it means they're being honest about who they think Australia Day is celebrated by!!

Nice pick up Nic.
I keep being astounded by how huge Australia Day, and the Aussie flag has become since the Cronulla riots.
