New PM?

After staying up way too late last night watching Lateline I woke up feeling a little unsettled as the political ground shifted so suddenly in Canberra. But it just so happened that the passage I was up to in my daily Bible reading was Daniel 2:
20. Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;

22 he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
23 To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter.”

Thanks for the reminder, Nicole, which I needed!

Yes, I was very pleased that I read that passage this morning. I am still feeling totally shocked by it all. How can this happen so suddenly? It's good to know that God isn't shocked!

What a great God-incidence that you read that passage. I had something a bit similar. I stayed up too late here in the UK trying to find out what happened. It was a bit of a shock to suddenly see facebook and twitter ablaze with it and left me feeling a bit disconnected from it, across the other side of the world. This morning I woke up with 1 Tim 2:1-3 in my mind. It was good to be reminded about a bigger picture view of leadership and how to pray for them.
