'Disobedience', by A. A. Milne
Monday, 26 October 2009
No month of A.A. Milne poems would be complete without James James Morrison (W. G. Du P.)! To experience it in all its glory, of course, you have to read it out loud (and ideally, get a copy of the book out so you have the illustrations as well).
Enjoy!

I am loving A.A. Milne month Nicole! I was read all these as a child, and have been reading them to Matthew - he loves them too. 'Now we are six' and 'When we were very young' are treasured books in my family, pased down to us by my father from his childhood, so all 3 generations of us have read the poems from the same books. Thanks for reminding me to get them out again!
I started reading this out loud to my children when my 9 nyear old started quoting it back to me! I had no idea she even had the book, let alone the smarts to memorise it whilst reading it to herself at night. Thanks for the insight.
Wendy, I'm loving it too!
And 'anonymous' - your 9 year old's memorisation is very impressive!
