Some memory verse pics

Here are some pictures of our Easter memory verse. Yesterday I got the kids to decorate some envelopes (with leftovers from Jacob's Easter hat that he made at school) and then I put pieces of cardboard inside each one with a couple of new words each day. Then I numbered them and stapled them to some ribbon and attached the two pieces of ribbon to our window (they are a bit out of order in this shot!). No prizes for guessing what the memory verse is!

Thanks for the idea - we have now copied - including the verse!

We're reviewing Isaiah 53:6 and Romans 6:23 for our Holy Week verses, which the kids know fairly well already from the Colin Buchanan memory verses CD. Depending on how well they go, I'd really like to add 1 Corinthians 15:3-5! But it might end up being just me who learns that one.
One of the best things about getting your kids to memorise scripture is that you get to learn it as well!

ps Joshua was really excited to know that another boy on the other side of Aus is able to read his whale book on the web. And it's nice to know that there are other mums out there whose boys are excited about what they know.

We've just completed ours and hung it up and it looks really great - 8pockets made out of different coloured cardboard and all decorated. Our verse is: 'He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness' Its from 1 Peter 2;24.
Now we are going to try making the chocolates for the teachers (better late than never on both counts!).

Thank you Nicole for these great ideas which are enjoying today.

Thanks Nicole. I really enjoy your blog (I think I came upon in via In Tandem). Our oldest is just turning 3 so these ideas are really helpful. Thanks!
