My attempt at letter writing - and it's not too late for you too!

Inspired by Gordo's friendly rebuke in this comment thread, I sent a letter in response to this article in today's Herald. Here it is:

The study quoted at the top of the article ('It's the Death of the Supermum', SMH 23/3) told us that "two thirds of Australians would prefer to stay at home to look after their children if they could afford to". And then the rest of the article was made up of quotes from the feminist commentariat about how the government needs to pump more money into childcare (because we would all be out at work and leaving our kids in childcare, if only we could afford to). How much clearer do we need to be before Eva Cox and her ilk realise that most Australian mums don't want what she thinks we ought to want?

It's not too late for you to send one too! You can email them (and include name, address, daytime and evening phone numbers).

Great letter Nicole! Sharply put, well done.

I've been writing most days but scoring no hits.
