Highlights of my Easter weekend

We had a lovely Easter long weekend. Here are some highlights...

* Teaching my preschool Sunday School class about Jesus' death and resurrection on Sunday morning. We sang a song called Easter Friday (from this album) and Rebecca (who is in my class) kept needing to add "he died for us mummy!" at the end each time.

* A day with my family on Saturday up in Katoomba (Blue Mountains) watching Dave (and my dad and brother in law) shovelling rocks and clay outside in the rain.

* Seeing how excited Jacob was to be given his first real Bible (we give the kids presents like a Christian book or cd each Easter instead of heaps of chocolate). We couldn't tear him away from it yesterday and Dave and I ended up reading quite a few big chunks of it to him, which was really special. He was just lapping it up.

* Cooking with the kids on Friday afternoon.

* Lots of weeding (very satisfying, depending on your personality type!).

* Eating our "Easter cake" together as a family (a chocolate cake with a cracked Easter egg on top to symbolise the empty tomb).

* Hearing the kids recite their memory verse (over and over and over again!)

* Watching old episodes of The West Wing with Dave at night.

Well, that's probably enough for now... hope you all had a nice weekend too!

Highlights: hearing Sparky tell everyone he met all day sunday "Christ is risen!"

Reading the new Easter (present) book to Sparky which told the entire story to him.

Having Sparky request the song "where you there when they crucified my Lord" all day friday.

And we watched some west wing too - my husband and I are addicted and we watch it in preference to what is on TV a lot, we own the whole series and we are currently in season 3.

We're up to season 5 of the West Wing! And I find weeding very satisfying too. My husband thinks I am mad, so I am glad there is someone else like me!

I am glad to have found some others that are addicted to the West Wing! We completely missed it first when it was on TV and can't believe what we missed out on now we are watching on DVD. Such a good show - especially if you love politics (like us). We're up to season 3... I may have to blog on this one day!
