I'm continuing to blog my way through When I don't Desire God: How to Fight for Joy , but thought before I spent time sharing my thoughts about the next chapter, which deals with the 'how to' kind of questions of reading your Bible, I wanted to encourage you to read the chapter itself before the end of the week! It's worth it. Plus, you can read the book online for free so it's easy to do.I also wanted to share this quote from the beginning of the chapter:
I have thought I am a creature of a day, passing through life as an arrow through the air. I am a spirit come from God and returning to God; just hovering over the great gulf, till a few moments hence I am no more seen. I drop into an unchangeable eternity! I want to know one thing, the way to heaven--how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way: for this very end he came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price give me the Book of God! I have it. Here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be homo unius libri [a man of one book].

Hey Nicole,
Thanks for all your posts on this book. I've actually started reading it! However, I don't think I'll have read that chapter by the time you post on it...I'm only reading a bit each night before I go to bed.
Jess.
I'm really encouraged you are reading it!
